Picnic in Hampstead

In the beginning of the week Ethan called all his friends out to Hampstead for a nice picnic.
People gathered in front of Kenwood Residence. They drank wine, ate snacks and sandwiches. During more energetic moments they played frisbee, baseball, cricket and ran around crazy.
On one rare sunny day in London, people are more than allowed to do so :)

Peaceful lunch in the sun

It only took me about 3 month until the last set of my stuff was transported from Ethan's to Kennington.
As weather was brilliant, Ethan and David had decided to go for a quick trip to have lunch in the sun in Chelmsford and I joined. And there she was - the grand example of great Britishness - Mrs. McGregor! Mrs. McGregor approached us with her lovely drunken crow voice and a request to buy a fag. Our answer of not having any did not please her. As gracefully as one sad human being can be, she lingered around our table and tried to form a sentence from random words. Politenesses were exchanged, promises to break noses and nice trips to ever so lovely "F**k off land" were on the offer too.
Funny enough, it didn't really ruin the lunch but actually added some thrill and entertainment to the day.
Loonies rule!

Sunshine

Sky had cleared up by Friday evening and something bright and yellow up there hurt my eyes... Sunshine?

Eases my nerve

This tune in my head just goes round and round... Is it because of the weather? Because of my overall psychological state of mind? Because of the fact that donkeys kill more people than plain crashes? I really can't put my finger on it... but it goes a little something like that:
"Seitse surmapattu,
vihm on lakkamatu,
juba seitsmes päev... sajab.
Rahustab mu närvi,
seitse spektrivärvi... vikerkaar..."
(Tõnis Mägi - Vikerkaar)
*
(translating the untranslatable)
Seven deadly sins,
Rain is so constant,
On the seventh day... sill pouring.
Eases my nerve,
seven colours of spectrum... rainbow..."
(Tõnis Mägi - Rainbow)

This song relaxes me...

Estonian youth singing

I love the internet era!
After browsing through the Estonian newspapers on Sunday and realizing that the 10th Youth Singing and Dance Festival was taking place in Tallinn I opened the link on ETV's (Estonian National TV) homepage and spent rest of the afternoon watching the great tradition that gets this tiny nation together. Yap... the little patriot in me woke up and was proud of his heritage :)
Later in the evening I found out that pine nuts from Italy are much bigger and tastier than the ones in Estonia... but that's a whole other story...

London Pride 2007

Making plans in this city is more than pointless. It was written in my notebook two months ago that on the last day of June I will go to Woking with Agnes. Some miscommunication and unanswered calls later I decided to stay in rainy city and check out this year's pride.
Noelle told me to drag myself to Trafalgar square at 1600 hours and ran politely 40 minutes late.
Soho was full of people and it rained. Access to every place was complicated due to the crowd and my mood was constantly low.

After Laurent ran almost two hours late and we finally managed to get into Profile things started to change. Rain had stopped and we found our way to Soho Square. Mud on the ground didn't seem so bad and rain was a fun element.
Though I think I have to throw away my shoes and jeans because of the horrid mud stains my overall grade to the night wasn't all that bad. Last year's was better :)
